Publication

DR Congo - 2020

Language: French

This video tells the story of a woman, Madame Vava, who does not intend to give in to the strong power of these "great men" who plunder and exploit the forest of her community with the complicity of the local chief. She is based in a very small isolated village 143 km from Kisangani. It belongs to the Bambaka community of Bapondi, whose demography is low and who live in the territory of Bafwasende. For Mrs. Vava, the protection of her community's forest is the struggle of her life. She moves heaven and earth to assert the rights of her community. In the end, this struggle is bearing fruit. After four long years of struggle and administrative procedures strewn with pitfalls and humiliations, she obtained the title to her community's forest.
